FC Barcelona has completed the signing of Sergio Aguero from Manchester City after his contract with Manchester City expired this summer.
The Argentine joined the club on a free transfer and signed a contract until the end of the 2022/23 season with his buyout clause set at 100 million euros.
Barca moved for Aguero after City’s decision to let the striker go at the end of his contract, bringing to an end his trophy-laden ten-year spell in Manchester.
Having joined Manchester club from Atletico Madrid in 2011, Aguero went on to score 260 times in 390 games as he established himself as one of the Premier League’s greatest ever goal scorers.
Aguero joins his compatriot and good friend, Lionel Messi, at the Catalan giants even though Messi’s contract with the club runs out in the summer and the captain yet to sign an extension.
He will officially be presented as a Barcelona player on Monday, 7th of June.
