Lagos Assures Investors of Profitable Returns on Investments

The Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Cooperatives, Dr. (Mrs.) Lola Akande on Wednesday assured prospective local and international investors in Lagos State of profitable returns on business investments.

The Commissioner gave the assurance while welcoming the delegation from a Chinese Firm, Tongyi Group of Companies on a courtesy visit to her office at the Ministry in Alausa, Ikeja, adding that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration is committed to the economic development of Lagos and operates an open-door policy for all prospective investors; home and abroad.

“With a population of over 22 million, Lagos ranks among the top 10 fastest growing economies in the world. We have friendly economic and trade policies that promote ease of doing business and global best business practices”, she said.

Dr. Akande explained that the present administration is working daily to improve infrastructure, encourage innovation in trade and manufacturing as well as enhance the digital economy of the State through its Smart City initiatives.

Earlier, the Chinese delegation led by their Nigerian Consultant, Major General Rogers Nicholas, sought the Lagos State Government’s partnership in the development of Sincerity Mart Shopping Mall in all parts of the metropolis.

He said that the company aimed at introducing advanced services and the latest international products that will provide the State with new business opportunities for residents and also promote the prosperity of the local economy.

Major Nicholas added that the company intends to establish 25 such Shopping Malls in all divisions of the State.

His words: “Aside from establishing a business enterprise in Lagos, the Company will also contribute to the infrastructural development efforts of the State Government to further boost employment opportunities in Lagos State”.
