United To Unveil Mourinho As Manager Next Week

Former Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho will likely be appointed coach of Manchester United, the BBC reports.

United won the FA Cup on Saturday after beating Crystal Palace 2-1 with Louis van Gaal, who presently has a year left on his contract.

BBC says it is believed a deal with the 53-year-old Portuguese was agreed in principle before United’s FA Cup final win on Saturday.

The highly successful club in Britain has had to endure a roller coaster under van Gaal, with some fans feeling frustrated at his style of play.

According to the BBC, the Old Trafford hierarchy is thought to have decided a change is required and Mourinho, who has been out of work since he was sacked by Chelsea in December 2015, is favoured to steer the ship of the club next season.

His arrival is likely to be announced next week after telling Van Gaal, 64, his reign at Old Trafford has come to an end.

United failed to finish top four, which dashes their hopes of playing in the elite Champions League next season and would opt for tough Thursdays Europa League actions.
