Moyes, Okocha, Eto’o Spice Up Yobo Testimonial

The Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt, Rivers State came alive on Friday when some African football legends turned up for the Joseph Yobo testimonial.

The former Nigeria captain got a befitting exit from the game after raking 101 caps for his country, the highest for a Nigerian player.

Yobo’s former coach at Everton, where he played most of his game in Europe, David Moyes, was on ground to honour the man he first signed when he got the job at the Merseyside club.

The former Manchester United and Real Sociedad manager was the coach of Team World, which lost 5-4 to Team Nigeria, coached by Amodu Shuaibu.

Yobo played each half in the two teams, scoring one goal each for the sides.

Samuel Eto’o, Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah, Lomana Lualua, Laryea Kingston, Nwankwo Kanu, Austin Okocha, Mutiu Adepoju, Austin Eguavoen, Ben Iroha, Vincent Enyeama, Ahmed Musa, Emmanuel Emenike, Godfrey Oboabona, Efe Ambrose, Joel Obi, Samson Siasia, Ike Shorunmu, AY Comedian, Osita ‘Pawpaw’ Iheme and others were present for the one hour thrilling match.
