The trial of Senate President, Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, for allegedly failing to declare all his assets has been suspended indefinitely.

There had been speculations on Tuesday that Wektas would not show up at the Tribunal today. He is said to appear before another court in Abuja today.

Chairman of CCT, Justice Danladi Umar, announced the adjournment on Wednesday. He explained that this was necessary to enable the court entertain other cases before him.

Wednesday’s adjournment of Saraki’s trial at the CCT comes a day after an expected ruling on the Senate President’s case at the Court of Appeal in Abuja was stalled after the court failed to form a quorum.

Meanwhile, both the prosecution and defence teams have welcomed the adjournment, saying it would allow them prepare their cases better.
