Five suspects have been remanded in prison by an FCT High Court in Maitama over their alleged involvement in a N29 million land scam.
The suspects were arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Tuesday, June 14, 2016.
The EFCC informed Justice O. O Goodluck that the accused conspiring to forge land documents, impersonate the property owner and fraudulently sold a land in the Gwarimpa district of Abuja to one Mrs Ezeani Thankgod Nnamdi.
The suspects are Rita Okeke, Franklin Ibe, Mamam Mahammed Hamidu, Isei Pius Divine and Yusuf Ibrahim Muhammed.
They were dragged before the court on an 11-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy, advance fee fraud, obtaining by false pretence and impersonation to the tune of N29 million.
Justice Goodluck ordered that the accused be remanded to prison pending the next hearing of the matter.
