On Tuesday, Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State hosted the league of Imams and Alfas in the state to Iftar, the daily breaking of fast-food observed by Muslim faithful during the Ramadan period.
During the programme, special prayers were offered for Ogun State, Nigeria as well as President Muhammadu Buhari.
A similar session was held with Permanent Secretaries in the public service of the Ogun State government on Thursday, June 9.
In the course of that session, the Permanent Secretaries led by Elder Sola Adeyemi, Head of Service, Ogun State Civil Service, took turns to eulogise the governor for what they described as the remarkable achievements of his administration since inception in 2011.
They were particularly grateful for the efforts of the governor in ensuring that salaries of workers in the employ of the state government are paid as and when due in spite of the current economic challenges confronting the nation.
The governor, on his part, thanked the Permanent Secretaries and by extension the entire workforce of the state for their cooperation.
Amosun described the workers as partners in progress and urged them to continue to contribute their quota to the development of the state.
