NFF Drops 35-man List For Rio Olympics

A 35-man provisional list for the Rio Olympics games starting on August 5, 2016, in Brazil, has been released by the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF.

Super Eagles captain and Chelsea player, Mikel Obi, made the team as well as his teammate at Stamford Bridge, Kenneth Omeruo.

Also on the list are Watford FC’s Odion Ighalo, Kelechi Iheanacho of Manchester City and Alex Iwobi of Arsenal FC.

It is observed that players who have had experience playing in the Nigeria senior team constitute half of those in the Samson Siasia team of 35, who will train in the USA before a final list of 18 is drawn up just before the trip to Brazil.
