The teaching of religious studies in Nigerian schools has been advocated by the National Legal Adviser of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muiz Banire, to curb the decadence and high level of criminality in the society.

Banire made this recommendation at the breaking of Ramadan fast with the children from the Babel Salam Orphanage home.

He said it was unfortunate that what Nigerians celebrate today is wealth without asking question about the source, believing that the society can effectively reverse the trend through the teaching of the young ones with religious studies that will make them to be conscious of their actions and their creator at all times.
