The need to improve the standard of living of people of his constituency was the major reason Lagos lawmaker, Oluyinka Ogundimu constructed and handed over seven boreholes to provide free water for the people of his constituencies.
Speaking at the commissioning of the water projects, Ogundimu said water being one of essential needs of life should be made available to all.
“By providing this, I’m contributing my own quota to the development and growth of my constituents,” the lawmaker, who represents Agege State Constituency 2 in the Lagos State House of Assembly said.
According to Ogundimu, who is also Chairman of the House Committee on Finance, the water project is free for all residents while a generator was also provided for each project to pump water in case there was no electricity supply.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Tunde Samuel, who commissioned two of the projects urged the residents to see the projects as their personal properties hence the need for proper maintenance and monitoring.
“This is a project that you should ensure proper maintenance and monitoring. This is your personal project and you should take care of it,” Obasa said at the commissioning of the project located at Shiaba Street, Agege.
The water projects were spread across the seven wards that made up Agege State Constituency 2. The Shiaba Street project is located at Ward G; there was another one at Sango Market in Ward F; and another one at Atobaje area in Ward E; all in Agege Local Government.
In Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Ladoje Street in Ward A; Ile Pako in Ward B; Isiaka Street in Ward C; and Jibowu Street in Ward F all benefited.
