Niger/Delta Amnesty: Boroh Unites Ex Militants


The visit of the Vice President, now Acting President to Bayelsa State, is an indication that the Federal government is committed to finding a lasting solution to the unrest, instability and underdevelopment of the Niger Delta Region.

The above is contained in an online statement made available to the Fourth Estate of the realm recently by the office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme.

According to the statement, “In Preparation for this historic event, a lot of strategic meetings have been going on behind the scenes. The Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta Affairs and Coordinator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Brigadier General Paul Boroh(Rtd), has been in Yenegoa, the Bayelsa State capital, preparing for the Vice president’s visit.”

It noted that General Boroh had visited different parts of Yenegoa, met with Ex Militant leaders like, Boy Lof, Africa and Pastor Ruben, adding that top on the agenda of those meetings was to muster support for the Federal government and to revive the spirits of the Ex agitators in the State.

“The Visit of the Vice President is an indication of the Federal government’s interested and commitment to the region. We should all see this as an opportunity to positively express ourselves”, Boroh said while addressing some ex agitators.

“The Ex agitators showed optimism and are really looking forward to the visit of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo” the statement concluded.
