The Federal Government has cancelled the weekly Federal Executive Council, FEC, meeting scheduled to hold on Wednesday. The meeting was called off in order to mourn the late younger of Vice President Namadi Sambo, Yusuf, who died on Sunday in a car crash in Abuja.
In a statement signed on Tuesday by Sam Nwaobasi, Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim Pius, President Goodluck Jonathan explained that the meeting was canceled to enable Council members attend the three-day prayer for the deceased.
Late Yusuf was the immediate younger brother to the Vice President.
He was buried at the Apo cementry according to Islamic rites. The deceased is survived by his wife, children and siblings. Late Yusuf was aged 58.
