London club, Queen Park Rangers, QPR, will play in the elite Barclays Premier League next season. The Harry Redknapp’s side lost its premier league status in the 2012/2013 season after it was relegated into the Championship.
In a play-off at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday, QPR beat Derby County 1-0. Bobby Zamora scored a late goal in the 90th minute to hand his team the important promotion.
QPR was reduced to 10 men after Gary O’Neil received a red on the hour for a tackle on Johnny Russell just outside the area.
The club will replace another London club, Fulham, in the BPL next season, after Fulham was relegated in the just-concluded season.
