Driver of former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala has been murdered by some gunmen in Ibadan, the state capital. The man, Alabi Ajikobi, was shot dead on Friday afternoon by armed robbers while on his way from the bank, where he had gone to withdraw an undisclosed sum of cash.

Late Ajikobi was killed in Bodija area of Ibadan. It was also learnt that a man stopped the deceased and was reportedly having a discussion with him before two men later accosted him while on a motorcycle, shot him dead and collected the money from him before taking to their heels.

It is not clear when had the gunmen been trailing their victim as we could not ascertain that before to press.
