No fewer than 22 persons were feared killed on Wednesday afternoon in an explosion that rocked the city of Kaduna. The blast occurred along Isa Kaita Road, which leads to the popular Murtala Square in Central Kaduna.
It is believed that a convoy of an Islamic leader called Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was the main target of the attack, though this is not yet confirmed. The bomb was said to have gone off just when Bauchi’s convoy was driving past the area.
