Ebola: 2 Die Drinking Hot Salt Solution In Benue

Director of Public Health in the Benue State Ministry of Health and Human Services, Joseph Kumba, has confirmed that two persons have died in the state after drinking and bathing with hot salted water due to the fear of contracting the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, which has killed many in West Africa.

Some days ago, there were rumour that drinking and bathing with hot salted water cures the disease, which is yet to have a definite cure. However, the government swiftly rebuffed the speculation.

The two victims reportedly died at the Ushakaa Clinic in Makurdi, Benue State capital on Wednesday. They were admitted to the hospital on Saturday, but efforts made to save their lives were futile. It was learnt that one of deceased, a male, lived at the North Bank are, while the other, a female, resided in Benada area of Makurdi.
