Security details attached to Speaker of House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, have been withdrawn. This is coming barely 48 hours after the Speaker formally announced his defection from the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, to the opposition, the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This is also coming barely 24 hours after his former party asked him to resign as Speaker of the House.
The Speaker is entitled to an all-round protection by security operatives, which include the Police, SSS and the Civil Defence Corps.
It was gathered that this move came following an alleged order from the Inspector General of Police, Suleman Abba, to the security details to be redeployed since Tambuwal was no more the Speaker following his defection.
