Jonathan Commissions Power Plant In Ogun

President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday inaugurated the 750 MW power plant in Olorunsogo in Ifo local government area of Ogun State.

The President said this was in fulfilment of one of his promises in 2011 to improve the power sector in the country.

He explained that the project gulped a whooping sum of $650 million, pointing out that the plant will be added to the national grid.

Jonathan said about $8.26 billion has so far been pumped into the power sector through the National Integrated Power Project, NIPP.

He further said he has fulfilled his promise to Nigerians to give the power sector a priority.

“I am happy that I have consistently delivered on my campaign promises to transform Nigeria and my administration would leave no stone unturned to achieve its goals.

“I have lived up to my campaign pledge to make the power sector a priority.”

The President also said on Saturday, he will commission the Egbin Power Station in Lagos State, noting that he will continue to do his best to illuminate Nigeria.
