Buhari Orders Own Escorts To Obey Traffic Rules

President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari, has directed his security aides to always adhere to traffic regulations as stipulated by the Nigerian government.

Buhari, in a statement issued by his media aides in Abuja, explained that floating traffic rules by top public officers and their aides send the wrong signal to citizens.

He stressed that his administration will frown at lawlessness by the politicians and security officials, who do not have regards for traffic regulations.

The former military ruler said henceforth, his police and military escorts should respect traffic rules, stating that he wants to live by “example”, warning that “arrogance of power, lawlessness and disregard for the rights and convenience of fellow citizens would have no place in his government.”
