The governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, has stated that he is not planning to leave the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, as being speculated in some quarters. The governor was reacting to a rumour that he has threatened to leave the ruling party if he’s not given an automatic ticket to contest the Senatorial position in 2015, when his tenure as governor expires.
Speaking at a press conference in Asaba on Friday, Uduaghan stressed that as a founding member of the party, he has no where to go, stating that he remains an integral part of the PDP.
He attributed the rumour to the handiwork of some mischief makers, who are bent on causing problem in PDP. He used the occasion to call on Nigerians to continue to support President Goodluck Jonathan, assuring the President of the support of the state.
