A new Speaker of the House of Representatives has emerged. He is Yakubu Gogara from Bauchi State.
He was elected on Tuesday evening by members of the House of Representatives after he contested the position with Femi Gbajabiamila from Lagos.
He was sworn-in immediately by the Clerk of the National Assembly after he was announced as winner of the election involving 358 lawmakers.
