Why I Won’t Attend My Daughter’s Wedding—Fani Kayode

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, who now likes to be addressed as Femi Olukayode, has said he will not be at the wedding of his daughter, Temitope, which holds this weekend in Lagos.

Femi, addressing newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos after the court cleared him of corruption charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, said he will not attend the ceremony because he has not approved the union.

The former Director of Media and Publicity to the campaign organisation of former President Goodluck Jonathan further said “I’m not aware” of the wedding.

In his words, “I won’t attend the wedding, I’m not aware of it and I did not give my approval.”

Tope, as the bride-to-be is fondly called, is the daughter of Femi’s first wife, Yemisi Wada, who is a daughter to the former governor of old Kwara State, Adamu Attah.

Tope’s mother is now married to Dahiru Wada, son of Inua Wada, a one-time minister in the First Republic.

She held her marriage introduction in December 2014 in Lagos at the home of her stepfather in Ikoyi. She will be getting married to the son of renowned accountant, J.K. Randle, Jaiye this weekend.
