Messi Emerges UEFA Best Player

Barcelona’s Lionel Messi has been named 2014 UEFA Best Player of the Year. The Argentine was announced winner of the award on Thursday at the Champions’ League draws held in Monaco, France.

He beat two other nominees; Christiano Ronaldo and Luiz Suarez to grab the award after 54 reputable journalists voted at the ceremony.
