The Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Makurdi, Benue State capital, has upheld the victory of former Senate President, David Mark, in the senatorial district poll held in March 2015.
The Tribunal struck out a petition filed by Comrade Daniel Onjeh of the All Progressives Congress, APC, challenging the victory of Mark.
Mark contested the election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and was declared winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Onjeh claimed there were irregularities in the voting on the day of election. He further claimed that there was an over voting too.
But the Tribunal dismissed his petition on the grounds of lack of proof of evidence to back up his claims.
Mark returned to the National Assembly representing the Benue South Senatorial District.
