An attack by Boko Haram sect in a Chadian city on the Lake Chad on Saturday left no fewer than 35 persons dead.
The terrorists reportedly bombed a fish marker at Baga Sola, injuring over 50 people. According to reports, there were three explosions in the city at about 4pm.
Also, two refugee camps on the outskirts of the city were targeted by the insurgents.
In recent years, climate change has reduced the surface of Lake Chad, which is shared among Nigeria, Chad, Niger and Cameroon.
Several islands and islets on the lake are used by fishermen and its banks have dense vegetation, which makes infiltrations by Boko Haram Islamists into Chad much easier.
