Wike Swears-in Acting Chief Judge

Governor Nyesom Wike on Friday sworn-in Justice Adama Iye Iyayi-Lamikanra as the Acting Chief Judge of Rivers State.

The appointment of Iyayi-Lamikanra, according to him, is in line with his avowed commitment to the rule of law and approved order of seniority in the appointment of Acting Chief Judge.

Wike congratulated the new acting Chief Judge of the state and charged her to consolidate on the legacies bequeathed of her predecessor.

The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to continue to accord women their rightful positions in government, no matter the circumstances.

“Nobody should talk about 25 percent or 30 percent, the women appointed since my administration came into power has covered up to 70 percent,” Wike boasted. He further said women will continue to get more appointments in his administration.

Justice Iyayi-Lamikanra is primarily an indigene of Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State while her late husband was from Rivers State.
