Members of the 1985 world-conquering Golden Eaglets team will receive N2 million each from the Federal Government for their exploits, President Muhammadu Buhari has promised.
The President also said other athletes that did the country proud at various competitions will get cash rewards as well.
At a reception held in Abuja to honour the team and other victorious Nigerian athletes in recent mundials, President Buhari said the reward given to them was not payment for their services to the country but a token of appreciation.
He also promised that their coaches would be given N1.5 million each.
