Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, arrived the premises of the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday morning for hearing of his bail application.
Kanu is standing trial at the court for alleged treason. He was arraigned by the Department of State Services, DSS.
The suspect, who is also the Director of Radio Biafra, was accused of using the broadcast medium to air hate speeches against the government of Nigeria and also inciting people from South East region of the country to call for secession.
The DSS brought him before Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the same court on a-six-count charge of treasonable felony, but Kanu had expressed his reservation for the Judge, saying he has no confidence in him.
Following this, the case was transferred to Justice John Tsoho who adjourned the matter till today for ruling on Kanu’s bail application.
At the court today, Kanu looked calm as he awaits decision on his bail consideration.
